Alum's astringent properties provide a wonderful finish to a shave. Wet the alum under cold water and apply to your face after your shave to avoid razor burn. Rinse off with cool water after a minute or two and then apply your favourite balm or splash, or nothing more at all! This block of alum is big enough to last years and the hard case will help keep it in one piece.
