Shaving Brushes

There has been much written about shaving brushes on most of the online forums dedicated to traditional wet-shaving. There are as many opinions as to what makes a good shaving brush as there are men who use them! I'm often asked my opinion on what the best shaving brush is and I have yet to easily volunteer an answer to the question. The whole matter is too subjective. If you see a shaving brush that strikes your fancy, that's a good place to start. Budget is a very important factor when choosing a shaving brush. If you are pondering your first shaving brush purchase, don't choose the most expensive brush you can afford. That's isn't a good way to make a choice. Instead, think about how big you might want your shaving brush to be. I provide measurements for the brushes to help you consider this important factor. Also think about if you want something with stiff hair or soft, a wooden handle or plastic one...

I prefer a smaller brush with a short loft. I don't like too much of my face to be covered by the brush at one time. I also like the manoeuvrability of a smaller brush.
